Poor sleep quality can lead to increased levels of stress hormones
such as cortisol which has been linked to fat storage. Treat quality sleep as an essential part of your healthy lifestyle.
Aim to eat five times per day (three small meals plus two healthy snacks). Blood sugar levels must be maintained to allow your body and brain to function optimally. Failure to do this results in tiredness and binge-eating.
Add up the amount of time you spend driving and/or working at a
desk per day then compare it to the amount of time you
spend exercising. Aim to redress the balance by being as active as possible throughout the day. Simply taking the stairs makes a difference.
If you find you get back pain from sitting at your desk aim to stand up or change position regularly. This helps to prevent any one set of tissues becoming over stressed.
